How unbelievably relieved and proud I am, of myself, to have persevered through the last 5 years and made it to graduation.
To call the last 5 years challenging would be an understatement, from starting this adventure the oldest in my year, having been out of education for almost 2 decades, to some the most stressful events an adult and parent could have in their lives, to Covid-19 and the numerous lockdowns and disruption to teaching and support – it has been a endless test of ones determination with more than a few close calls to throwing in the towel.
This success wouldn’t be possible without the truly amazing teaching staff and support technicians at the University.
I am also so excited to be working along side many of them, continuing my education, as I work towards my PhD.
PhD - Remanufacturing
Remanufacturing is the process of taking used products that are worn, damaged, and/or non-serviceable and rebuilding their components into "like new" or "better that original" to be reused in new products. Sounds easy? How can it be "better"?
Sadly, due to manufacturing methods and infrastructure, in the majority of cases, it is more financially viable to dispose of the old product and manufacture a new one, that it is to try to remanufacture one.
I'm utilising this personal development module to learn Python and improve my coding ability. More and more projects I’m involved with require some coding knowledge, that up till now, has been offered by those in computing fields.
How better to learn than to develope my learning plan project around my family.
